Sophie Mayper, PT, DPT, CSPS
Licensed Physical Therapist – Doctor of Physical Therapy | Certified Personal Trainer (NSCA – CSPS) | Founder of Thrive Strength and Rehab
As a Doctor of Physical Therapy with a background in outpatient orthopedics, I’ve spent my career helping people regain function, manage pain, and build confidence in their bodies. At Thrive Strength and Rehab, I bring that same clinical expertise into a more personal, preventative, and empowering setting — helping adults of any age build strength, resilience, and independence through movement.
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Physiology and Neuroscience from UC San Diego, followed by my Doctor of Physical Therapy from Northern Arizona University. My approach is rooted in science, shaped by experience, and guided by a belief that movement is one of the most powerful tools we have to thrive as we age.
Why I Started This Practice
After working in traditional outpatient clinics, I saw a need that wasn’t being fully met:
A bridge between medical rehab and lifelong wellness — where people could continue progressing after physical therapy ends, or even before it begins. Many adults want to stay active, prevent injury, and improve strength, but don’t feel safe or supported in conventional fitness settings.
My goal is to fill that gap by providing high-quality, personalized strength training programs that prioritizes function, safety, and long-term independence.
Clinical Interests & Philosophy
- Chronic Pain Management: Helping people move with less fear and more freedom
- Osteoporosis Prevention & Bone Health: Strength training as medicine
- Functional Fitness: Practical, age-smart movement to support your lifestyle
- Women’s Health: Using fitness to manage the transition of perimenopause and menopause
You don’t have to be an athlete to train like one. Whether you want to hike with less pain, lift your kids/grandkids confidently, or simply feel stronger getting out of a chair — I’m here to help you move better, age stronger, and thrive in your daily life.
My Commitment to You
- One-on-one care in the comfort of your own home or workplace (inquire about gym options)
- Evidence-based training built around your body and your goals
- A supportive and judgment-free space to build strength, at any stage of life
